The 1,600sm Villa for a Collector of Julian Stanczak Paintings is located in the palatial Warsaw suburb of Konstancin-Jeziorna. Known for its historic Palladian villas, Konstancin-Jeziorna is of significant architectural value to Warsaw as it was one of very few areas of the city that were not completely destroyed during WWII. Additionally, the site is located on the unique forested green-belt area that has strict zoning and landscape regulations (only 10% building footprint allowed).
The classic Palladian 9-square-grid was used as a planning devise to both contextualize the project and respond to the strict zoning requirements. The Palladian plan allowed the interior to be spatially expansive while allowing the exterior to be remain volumetrically compact on the site.
This project was made during my colaboration with the Kos Architects.
